We fully recognize that early childhood care and welfare is a real problem in rural Tanzania.
We acknowledge that many children in local communities lack adequate home day care, quality early childhood education, adequate nutrition, and early childhood health care.
Smiling Hope Foundation, a registered Tanzanian national NGO, was created from our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and build a brighter future. Many children in Tanzania face significant challenges, and too often they lack access to the resources and opportunities they need during their earliest years.
Our mission is to help address those challenges by providing sustainable financial support to carefully selected daycare providers and other community-based programs serving children. By strengthening these local organizations, we can help create safe, nurturing environments where young children can receive education, care, nutrition, and support during the important early years of their development. We believe that investing in children today helps create stronger individuals, families, and communities tomorrow. It is all about “Building Brighter Futures for Children.”
Our 10 to 20 year vision about what we can do. We have come to know there are many private daycare facilities like the one we work with there that do this sort of needy work. These folks make a real impact helping very young vulnerable children. We envision our NGO assisting many others. Our vision includes actually setting up other daycare facilities in other regions of Tanzania under a model of sustainability. Ultimately our long-term success is about young children succeeding themselves. Adolescent education, not only basic math and science, but education on hygiene and how to live properly and be self-supporting and self-reliant once they become adults is our aim. This is the heart of our long term work. We want to support daycares who think education is important and who want to produce bright students who will help the community today and in the future on poverty eradication.
